A resident of Kashmir has been arrested over a car blast that killed eight people and wounded at least 20 others in New Delhi last week, India's National Investigation Agency has said.
Amir Rashid Ali was arrested in Delhi, the agency said on Sunday, adding the car used in the attack on 10 November was registered in his name.
The National Investigation Agency, which is India's federal anti-terror agency, accused him of conspiring with the alleged suicide bomber, who it identified as Umar Un Nabi, a resident of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
It said Ali came to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car which was used as a "vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive
Device to trigger the blast".
The car blast is being treated as a "terror incident", the Indian government said last week.
The blast, which triggered a fire that damaged several parked vehicles, happened near the gates of the metro station for the Red Fort, a former imperial palace and busy tourist spot.
At the time of the incident, the fire service reported that at least six vehicles and three autorickshaws had caught fire.
