£100 fine for people leaving their bin out too long in Coalville

The district council identified seven streets where the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) would be put into place.

The order would see residents on certain streets fined up to £100 if they leave their bins out past 9pm on collection day.

It would also mean bins could not be put out until 6pm the night before collection.

In the proposals, the Council said the bins cause obstructions to pedestrians and an increase of litter and waste in the area.

This has had a 'detrimental effect' on the quality of life of those living in the affected roads.

If the proposals go head the PSPO would come into place on 27th July in the following streets:

  • Berrisford Street
  • Melbourne Street
  • Margaret Street
  • Bridge Road
  • Adam Morris Way
  • William Bees Road
  • Mantle Lane

The Council is required to carry out a period of consultation. If you would like to submit your comments, please do so by the 2 July 2021 deadline to:-
