Police say a body has been found in Stoney Stanton.
Officers said on Friday 9th August, a body was discovered in fields near to Sapcote Road.
“Although formal identification has not taken place at this time, it is believed to be that of Anthony Hamerton” a statement from Leicestershire Police said.
Mr Hamerton, 93, had been reported missing on Tuesday 6th August after he had not been seen for a few days.
The death is not believed to be suspicious and HM Coroner has been informed.
Specially trained officers are providing support to Mr Hamerton’s family.
