Police investigating the discovery of a body in Botcheston say it is that of a missing woman from Loughborough.
43-year-old Linda Chambers was reported missing on Tuesday 10th September, but had not been seen since Saturday 13th April.
Her body was found in Markfield Lane on Tuesday 17th December.
Following a post-mortem examination, detectives confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
Police released an image of Linda and appealed to the public for help in October following her disappearance.
CCTV images showing Linda shopping in Loughborough on Saturday 13th April were also released by officers trying to find Linda.
Detective Inspector Tim Lindley said: “Unfortunately, we can today confirm that the body found in Markfield Lane on 17th December is that of Linda.
“My thoughts and condolences very much remain with her family and loved ones at this time.
“I appreciate it has taken some time for us to confirm the identity and would like to thank the public for their patience while we completed our investigation.”
