There were tailbacks on 45 minutes on the M1 near Fosse Park and a road in Burbage was closed.
Hinckley Police issued a warning on Wednesday (27th December) after snowfall overnight led to dangerous driving conditions on local roads.
There was an accident on the M1 at Junction 21 southbound that left a number of lanes closed and drivers stuck in tailbacks for 45 minutes.
In Burbage, Duport Road at the junction of Far Lash had to be closed by police because of a fallen phone line.
The snow is the second bout to hit the region in the last month with a number of local schools being closed on 10th December due to severe weather.
