Leicestershire police say they are continuing to keep people safe during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
They say they are still asking residents to follow Government guidance and stay at home to save lives – and officers are continuing to follow the “engage, explain, encourage, enforce” approach.
The day-to-day duties are continuing and they say they are here to listen to any concerns you may have.
Officers from the North West Leicestershire neighbourhood policing area stopped a car in Highfield Street, Coalville on Tuesday following reports it may have been used in the supply of drugs.
Police say when the car was searched, it's believed a large quantity of cash was reportedly found inside.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and driving without a licence or insurance.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.
Both men have since been released under investigation.
Assistant Chief Constable Julia Debenham said: “Policing is a 24/7 operation and, while the guidance remains in place, we are still here for you.
“I would like to assure our communities across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland that we will continue to serve and protect you during what is, without doubt, an unusual time in our lives.
“Our officers are continuing to police in neighbourhoods across both our counties and listen to any concerns or queries that you may have.
“If you are a victim of crime, you can make a report online, by visiting our force website. You can also continue to report things to us by calling 101.”
