The runway was shut because of a power cut and fog.
East Midlands Aiport say flights are delayed because it was forced to close the runway this morning (24 Feb) because of bad weather.
A statement from the Airport said:
"We're very sorry to all passengers currently experiencing flight delays from East Midlands Airport.
Due to a power cut earlier this morning and low visibility caused by fog, the runway is currently closed and all flights are delayed. Engineers are on their way to the site and we hope to have this issue resolved in the next couple of hours."
Passengers were told to continue to check-in as normal. The airport also made the announcement on their social media sites.
