The awards, organised by Charnwood Borough Council recognise high-quality building design in the borough and the excellent work of building owners, agents and contractors.
The Charnwood Design Awards encourage and recognise high standards of design in the built environment and demonstrate how the Council’s vision for high-quality design, as set out in the Core Strategy which guides development in Charnwood, is being met.
The finalists are:

· Storkit Meadows, Wymeswold
· 58 Brook Street, Wymeswold
· Fowke Street, Rothley
· The Oaks, 133 The Ridings, Rothley
· Mountsorrel Memorial Centre
· Milk Bottle Yard, Forest Road, Loughborough
· Loughborough School Sports Hall
The judging panel recently visited the finalists to help them choose their winners.
Richard Bennett, head of planning and regeneration at the Council said: “These awards give us an opportunity to recognise the positive contribution that these high-quality building designs bring to the local area.
“It was great to visit the finalists with the judges to hear about the design and building process. The panel now have a very tough decision on choosing the winners.
“Good luck to all of the finalists and I look forward to celebrating them all at the awards ceremony later this month.”
The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday November 28 at Fairfield Preparatory School, Burton Walks.
