More than 30 firefighters were called in to fight a severe fire at Mira on the A5 near Higham on the Hill.

Fifteen cars, two trailers and a forklift truck were involved after a fire started in a single storey building temporary building measuring 15m x 50m on the Mira estate.

Both Leicestershire and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at just before 2pm on Sunday 24th May.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service told Fosse 107:  "10 pump appliances and 4 special appliances are in attendance at the scene along with four senior officers. The building is fully involved in the fire and work is ongoing to fight the fire at this stage."

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said petrol bullets and two empty 50 gallon petrol drums that were inside the building were not involved in the fire.

There was no reported casualties.

In a statement, Mira confirmed the emergency services were on site.

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service tweeted an image of the fire and said that more than 30 firefighters were in attendance.

Eyewitness Andy Johnson told Fosse 107 there was a "big fire in the end building nearest Atherstone."

His photograph show the hose reel jets working hard to stop the flames at the site.
