It happened outside Gameworld in The Borough.
The call was received just after 10 this morning (15th June) and the oil was finally cleared at 11:35.
Leicester Fire and Rescue said, "The oil spillage was from an Arriva bus. Highways were requested to attend to deal with the spill, whilst our crews protected road users from the spillage."
Traffic was significantly slowed throughout the town while work was carried out.
Hinckley and Bedworth Borough Council thanked fire crews for their help, and for on-lookers alerting drivers to the spill.
