Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough council are cracking down on fly-tipping in the area.

They say since the start of August 2020, Environmental Enforcement officers have issued four fixed penalty notices in relation to fly-tipping in the Borough. Fines in relation to littering or fly-tipping carry fees of £100 and £400 respectively.

The borough council says CCTV cameras will soon be installed in the area with the aim of deterring and catching fly-tippers.

Residents will also soon see signage on some of their waste fleet as part of the ongoing campaign.

Councillor Jill Sheppard, Portfolio Holder for Central Services and Refuse said: “We take environmental waste crime very seriously and hope that our ongoing enforcement action and campaign will make future offenders think twice before irresponsibly dumping waste in Nuneaton and Bedworth. Not only is fly-tipping harmful to people's health and the environment, but it also costs taxpayers thousands of pounds each year to clear. The Council is dedicated to taking any necessary enforcement action against those responsible for waste crime.”
