The chaotic incident is alleged to have happened on Sunday evening.
Police received reports of an altercation where a man has been assaulted with a hammer causing minor face injuries.
The alleged offender fled in a vehicle with two other males, allegedly shouting racial obscenities at members of the public.
Shortly after the car has returned and has allegedly reversed at the victim causing him to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.
Officers pursued the vehicle, resulting in the suspects’ car making contact with a third vehicle before making off.
A member of the public has later reported the car abandoned. A police dog handler has attended and four suspects were located and taken to Nuneaton Justice Centre.
- The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man from Fillongley, arrested for driving without a licence, assault – GBH, aggravated vehicle taking, driving under the influence of drugs and failing to stop when directed.
- A 16-year-old boy from Atherstone arrested for wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm (Indictable).
- A 16-year-old boy from Nuneaton for attempted – wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm (Indictable), aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
- A 19-year-old man from Nuneaton for attempted - Wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm (Indictable), racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress
All four were released yesterday on police bail with conditions, until 22 August 21.
