However there will be a reduced number of crews out working.
Garden waste collections (brown bin) are to restart on Friday 6 August following a two week suspension. However with high levels of staff still unavailable and the national shortage of HGV drivers and agency staff there will be a reduced number of crews out to collect garden waste.
If your bin is not collected, the Council will not return to take it and you will have to wait until your next collection.
Matthew Bowers, Director (Environment & Planning) at the Borough Council said: “We will have a reduced number of garden waste crews out but the teams will be working hard to collect as much green waste as they can.
“We have taken on additional staff and are still recruiting however with the staff shortages it is unlikely all waste will be collected but we wanted to get back out and collect as much as we can.
“We hope people will bear with us as we do our best to ensure we can collect as much garden waste as we can, but on some days we will not be able to empty everyone’s bin. Unfortunately if your bin is missed we cannot return to empty it, but please put it back out on the next scheduled date.
“We will be monitoring the number of our crews available for work on a daily basis. These are exceptional circumstances and I would like to thank residents for their patience.”
