Residents in Whetstone were evacuated from their homes earlier today as a suspected unexploded object was found.
Police were called at 11.25 am this morning (Thursday) to a suspected unexploded ordinance in The Sidings, Whetstone.

Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) are explosive weapons that did not detonate when they were employed and still pose a risk of detonation, this could be bombs, bullets, shells or grenades.
At 2:45 the police said: "The device has been deemed non-viable and the cordons have been lifted."
