A Leicestershire hospice says their fundraising income has been cut by half amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rainbows Children Hospice in Loughborough looks after children and young people with life-limiting and life threatening conditions.

They are still open and offering support.

They've had to cancel some fundraising events to keep in line with government guidelines but have come up with other ways to raise money, like a virtual 5k run.

Residents can take part by walking or running at home.

Director of supporter relations at Rainbows, Jane Burns said: "Coronavirus is impacting us in a number of ways and it's changed how we are doing things but we are still very much there for families that we are supporting.
It's cut our fundraising income by 50% which is the bulk of our income. We are having to work out what we do in terms of managing that going forward, fortunately Rainbows is a well run charity so we have some money in savings but it's going to be a challenge for us."
