Officers are appealing for information.

A man arrested in connection with the discovery of a body believed to be Max Walsh has been released on police bail.

A body was found in woods near Snarestone on Saturday 15 November.

While formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Max, who was reported missing on Thursday (13 November) afternoon when he failed to return home.

He was last seen when he left his place of work, in Dordon, Warwickshire, at just before 2pm on Thursday.

His car was found at around 6pm that afternoon in Snarestone, near to where his body was later found.

Detective Inspector Michelle Goddard said: “We want to speak to anyone who knows where Max was in the period between him leaving work and his car being found on Thursday afternoon.

“There are extensive enquiries being carried out, but if you saw him or communicated with him in any way, we are keen to hear from you.

“We know people can be concerned about coming forward and speaking to police. I’d ask that you speak to us anyway – we need to find out what happened to Max and how he came about his death. Information you pass to us will be treated sensitively.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and was inconclusive. More tests will be carried out in order to determine the cause of death.

People can contact the force on 101, quoting incident number 25*670690.
