A man in his 60s remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Officers investigating a collision in Coalville on Sunday 8 August – where a car failed to stop at the scene – are continuing to appeal for public help.

It happened in London Road at around 5.50am.

A car – believed to be a dark grey hatchback – collided with a cyclist before leaving the area. The cyclist, a man in his 60s, remains in hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

PC Bob Simons, from the force’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) is asking for any witnesses who have not yet come forward – or the driver of the car – to come forward. He said: “From enquiries conducted so far, I believe the car involved is a dark grey hatchback that may be on a 59 plate.

“If you were the driver of that vehicle, please do the right thing and contact police.

“I am also asking any motorists who were travelling along London Road and saw the collision occur or saw a dark grey vehicle in the area to come forward. Please cast your mind back. Any information you have could help the investigation.”
