100 pupils from Braunstone Community Primary School are to appear on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday 4th April 2026.
Families, friends and the wider community - as well as the children themselves - will be tuning in to watch their moment in the national spotlight on the hit ITV show.
The children, aged seven to 11, travelled to the auditions last autumn to perform in front of the show’s famous judging panel - and now their television debut is finally about to be broadcast.
While the exact details of their act remain under wraps until the programme airs, viewers can expect a high-energy performance packed with music, movement and plenty of school spirit as the youngsters take to one of the biggest stages on British television.
At the heart of the performance is their much-loved “Mr T”, Halil Tamgumus, whose passion for music and dance has become legendary among pupils.
Now a School Improvement Advisor with Discovery Trust, Halil reunited with 100 of his former students to bring their unique school energy to the national stage.
Last summer, Halil attracted national attention for turning the School into a Friday afternoon dance session to boost wellbeing and engagement – and that same infectious enthusiasm is something the children were keen to bring to their Britain’s Got Talent experience.
Halil said: “Getting the chance to walk onto that stage together was an unforgettable moment for the children. They have put so much energy and excitement into the performance, and we can’t wait for everyone at home to finally see it.
“The whole school community has been behind them from the start, and it’s amazing to think that people across Leicestershire will be tuning in to cheer them on.”
The audition was filmed at the Hippodrome Theatre in Birmingham, where the pupils performed in front of the judging panel, which includes Stacey Solomon (in place of an ill Simon Cowell), Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and YouTuber KSI, as well as show hosts Ant and Dec.
Now staff, parents and pupils are encouraging the local community to gather around their TVs on Saturday night and watch as the Braunstone youngsters step into the Britain’s Got Talent spotlight.
