The road was shut between J23 and J23a.

A police incident has closed the M1 northbound between junctions J23 and J23A.

Normal traffic conditions are expected between 14:15 and 14:30.

Leicestershire Police said: "** Traffic Update 13:03** M1 is currently closed between J23 and 23a both directions - Please find alternate routes . Updates to follow"
