Local actor Bill Maynard dies aged 89

Bill Maynard, best known for his role as Claude Greengrass in Heartbeat, lived locally in Leicestershire, died in hospital shortly after breaking his hip after falling off his mobility scooter.

Bill Maynard, best known for his role as Claude Greengrass in Heartbeat has died in hospital shortly after breaking his hip after falling off his mobility scooter his family has confirmed.

The actor and comedian whose real name was Walter Williams lived locally in Leicestershire, worked in showbiz for more than 60 years.
