For the May elections voters will need to show an accepted form of photo ID when voting at polling stations.
Residents in Hinckley, Bosworth and Charnwood will start to receive their poll cards for the upcoming local elections in May.
Charnwood Borough Council has 52 councillors across 24 wards and all seats are up for election on Thursday the 4th of May.
Elections will also be held on the same day for any contested seats in all of the 27 parish and town councils in the borough.
Then at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and at parish councils in the borough-area all seats are up for election.
Charnwood residents are being asked to check their poll card carefully as there have been some changes to polling station locations.
The poll card will also advise which ward you are voting in as the electoral wards for Charnwood are changing for the May elections.
There will also be information on the poll card about the requirement to bring photo ID when voting at a polling station.
The new requirement has been introduced by the UK Government and applies to voters across England.
There are no scheduled elections in Nuneaton and Bedworth in May 2023.
