Sileby Tennis and Pickleball Club has had its three existing tennis courts resurfaced with artificial grass.
It was awarded funding through Charnwood Borough Council, totalling £150,000 to make significant improvements to its facilities.
Chairperson of Sileby Tennis Club, Nigel Peckover said: “We are delighted to officially open our fantastic new tennis courts which will rejuvenate interest in the game locally.
“The next stage is to upgrade our pickleball facilities and build a shelter with changing facilities which will make a huge impact and secure the club’s future for years to come.
“This exciting project would not have been possible without the funding provided by Charnwood Borough Council through the Section 106 agreements and community grants. I would encourage any sports clubs or community projects to look into the funding which may be available to you.”
The next phase of the improvements is to resurface the pickleball courts and extend the current facility to create a fourth court.
A new indoor shelter is also expected to open in the coming months, which will include changing facilities and an area for members to socialise.
