A fire has broken out in Loughborough Market Place this afternoon (15th March)
The flames are near the HSBC and Loughborough Town Hall.
Eight fire engines are currently at the scene.
Charnwood Borough Council have confirmed that tonight's performance at the Town Hall has been cancelled and everyone has been evacuated from the building.
There was meant to be an event called 'An Evening with Sir Geoff Hurst' at 19:30 this evening.
Charnwood Borough Council said: "The normal market is off tomorrow but we will assess in the morning and if we can hold a reduced market we will do. We won’t be able to confirm if anything is going ahead until the morning.
"We are aware of the fire in Loughborough town centre. Emergency services are currently on the scene.
"The fire is near to Loughborough Town Hall and therefore we have evacuated the building and tonight's show has now been cancelled."
Fosse 107 has contacted Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service for a comment.
