A 29-year-old man has been arrested following an incident in Baxter Gate in Loughborough yesterday
The man, who remains in custody, was arrested last night on suspicion of communicating information regarding a noxious substance - hoax and sending a letter/communication/article conveying an indecent/offensive message.
Emergency services were called to a restaurant shortly after 1pm following a report a potentially hazardous substance had been found inside.
It was also reported a phone call had been made to the business telling staff they must evacuate the premises.
Following initial testing, it the substance was believed to be salt.
An investigation into the incident is continuing.
