The 18-year-old died on Sword Drive in the early hours on Monday morning.
Police were called at around 12.55am this morning (Monday 7th October) to a report of a man who had been stabbed and found injured in Sword Drive.
When officers arrived, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Blockley, from East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are starting to piece together the circumstances surrounding what happened and how this man sustained his injury.
“While we have already identified a number of witnesses, it’s still important we speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information as to why it took place.
“Please contact us with any information you have as it could be vital to our investigation.
“I would also like to thank local residents, who may have been affected by the road closures, for their patience and understanding during this time.”
The roads around the area and nearby retail park were closed for a time but reopened at 9.20am.
