The Council says 40% of their waste management team are self-isolating.
It's the second week running that the Borough Council has had to postpone the collection.
They said they are currently experiencing serious staffing issues within the waste management team, with approximately 40% of operational staff unavailable for work.
Green bin collections will not take place from Monday 26/07/21 – 01/08/21.
It's hoped they can resume from August 2nd although this is not confirmed.
In response to new guidance published today by Government regarding particular workforce isolation exemptions, the Borough Council said they are actively working to establish our inclusion to this scheme.
Once again those who use the service will either need to wait until the service resumes, or go to a recycling centre, as crews cannot catch up.
The Portfolio holders for Public Services and finance are working together with finance officers to consider a discount scheme for residents following the suspension.
