"The new, stable, year-round, opening hours will end visitor confusion and enable greater access, particularly to school groups over the winter months."
From the 14th of April, there will be increased opening hours at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery.
The changes are due to investment from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
This funding allows new Museum Assistants to be appointed with increased opening hours being introduced from Monday, 14 April 2025.
The new opening hours are 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, Thursday to Saturday.
To mark the extended hours, museum employees are running a design competition for children to create an image for a poster promoting the building.
The main details to know are:
There will be two winners chosen from age categories 4 to 7 and 8 to 11
Entries must be on the downloadable entry form
Designs can be dropped in or posted to the Museum
The closing date is Tuesday, 11 March 2025
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said: "I'm really pleased that the extra funding we have provided will bring several benefits to our fantastic museum.
“The new, stable, year-round, opening hours will end visitor confusion and enable greater access, particularly to school groups over the winter months.
“Furthermore, the additional assistants that our funding has provided for means the museum will be protected from short notice closures due to employee shortages.
“I am also looking forward to seeing the entries for the poster design competition and I hope a large number of young people from across the borough take part.”
