Loughborough Pride takes places on Saturday 16th August

Loughborough is preparing for it's second Pride celebration after 2000 people attended the event in 2024.

Loughborough Pride, which will take place on Saturday 16th August, will focus on "icons", organisers said this year.

The celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, which was founded in 2024, was well support and this year will include family-friendly entertainment and a focus on community.

The Pride event will be officially opened by the Mayor on New Street at pm ahead of a picnic in Queen's Park with entertainment from 1:15pm.

After the sunsets there will be official "pride parties" set up across the town to continue the celebrations into the evening .

Organisers say: "We’re here to amplify queer voices, celebrate diversity, and build a town where everyone belongs — no ifs, no buts. At a time when LGBTQ+ rights are under threat around the world – as well as here in the UK - Pride matters more than ever. Loughborough Pride isn't just a party. It’s a powerful stand for love, equality, and solidarity."
