Police investigate suspected non-stop collision

Leicestershire police confirmed they were called to High Street in Measham on Saturday at 9.50pm following a report of a non-stop collision.

An investigation has been launched after two men were injured in Measham Saturday night.

In a statement Leicestershire police said: 

"Police were called to High Street at 9.50pm on Saturday 4th July following a report of a non-stop collision."

"Two pedestrians, both men, were injured during the incident. They were taken to hospital with non-serious injuries and have since been discharged.

"It is believed that an argument had taken place between the two injured and a third man inside a premises on High Street shortly before the collision took place.

"The driver of a white flatbed pick-up van left the scene before emergency services arrived. The van has since been recovered in Heather and enquiries are continuing to locate the driver.

"High Street was closed to allow for an investigation of the scene. It has since been reopened."

Detective Constable Mike Archer said: “We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area of High Street at around 9.50pm and saw the pedestrians before the collision, the vehicle involved or the incident itself.

"If you have information and haven’t yet spoken to officers please get in touch.

“Equally, if anyone captured what happened on their mobile phones, dashcam or CCTV we want to hear from you. Any information you have could assist with our investigation.”

Police say the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
