A 62-year-old man has been released on conditional bail after he was arrested in connection with the investigation.
Jacqueline Murphy - known as Jackie - was found with fatal wounds at a house on Chapel Street on Monday (10th May).
Officers received a call from East Midlands Ambulance Service at 10.30pm on Monday (10 May) who attended the property and provided treatment to Mrs Murphy.
She was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary but sadly died.
The man arrested was known to Mrs Murphy.
Officers continue to carry out enquires and would still like anyone with information who has not contacted police to come forward.
Detective Inspector Kenny Henry, who is leading the investigation, said: “We continue to have the family of Mrs Murphy in our thoughts.
“Our investigation into her death is ongoing and we ask anyone who may have information that could help us to please get in touch.
“While we understand the incident happened inside a property, anyone who was in the area on Monday afternoon or evening may have information that could help our investigation. Did you see or hear anything in the area that caused you any concern? Do you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area?
“If you have any information which you think could help, then please get in touch.”
