The road has now reopened.
A police incident happened in Loughborough town centre this morning (23/01).
Shortly before 9 am today (Thursday 23 January) a report was received that a man was refusing to leave premises in Pinfold Gate, Loughborough.
Leicestershire Police, said: "It was later reported that the man had climbed onto a wall in High Street and was causing damage to several vehicles parked close to the premises. As a precaution, a road closure was put in place High Street place to allow emergency services to respond.
"Officers attended and a 22-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
"He remains in custody and enquiries are continuing. No-one was injured during the incident."
People are asked to avoid the area of Market Place and High Street.
