Fire engines from Loughborough and Birstall were called to a fire at a domestic property on Leicester Road, Loughborough, this morning.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service say the cause of the fire is believed to be a tumble dryer.
All persons have been accounted for, with two casualties treated by EMAS colleagues.
The incident was closed at 09:35, and a reinspection will take place later today.
The fire, which was accidental, caused 50% damage to the ground floor of the property.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Using tumble dryers while asleep or out of the house can be dangerous, as a build-up of fluff in the filter can cause fires; we recommend people clean their filters regularly."
