Patrols continue and action taken
PCSOs from the East and West Teams have been out and about this week carrying out school parking patrols at Milby Primary School, St Nicolas Primary School, Weddington Primary school and Croft Junior School.
4 parking tickets were issued and several drivers were spoken to and given advice about their parking and asked to move on.
Parking on the yellow zig-zags, junctions, corners and drop kerbs reduces visibility for other vehicles, endangers children trying to cross the road and obstructs wheelchair and pushchair access. We will continue to monitor the parking before and after school times and take positive action.
A number of excuses were given at times during the week and are not acceptable. Excuses included.........
"I didn't know you were ticketing today".
"I didn't see the Zig Zags as there were leaves on top".
"I was running late"
"I am only dropping off/picking up"
"I didn't know I couldn't park on a junction"
None of these excuses will be accepted in future and drivers will not be spoken to about it. They will just be given tickets.
