A Special Constable from Warwickshire Police had a slightly unexpected end to his day when he saw smoke coming from a neighbour’s house.
Without hesitation, Mike Beddoes went straight over and found that a garden fire was burning out of control.
The outbuildings and trees were in flames and the elderly occupant was in distress.
Mike quickly put out the fire and gave first aid to his neighbour.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service's Watch Manager has since told Mike that if he hadn’t acted so quickly, the fire would have almost certainly spread to neighbouring homes and garages.
