Collect your anti-theft purse bell from Nuneaton Town Hall
At this time of the year, especially with the early dark evenings there is an increase in pick pocketing around the towns.
One effective way to prevent a purse, bag or other valuable item being stolen from your person is to attach a purse bell to the valuable item.
The bells are a discreet and effective way to provide an alert to the potential theft of a personal item. The Council have a supply of the purse bells which they are giving away for free. If you feel that it would be beneficial to you to have one please come into the Town Hall in Nuneaton and collect one from the front desk.
Councillor Barry Longden, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Health and Communities said:
“It is unfortunate but pickpocketing does increase in town centres at this time of year. I would recommend to anyone who is concerned to come along and receive your free purse bell. The bells will hopefully provide shoppers with peace of mind when they are out and about this winter.”
