Teenager taken to hospital after being hit in non-stop collision in Hinckley

Officers are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.

Hinckley Police are appealing for information after a non-stop collision happened between a car and a teenage cyclist in Brookside.

The collision happened at around 8 am on Wednesday 2 March near the junction with Featherstone Drive.

A 13-year-old boy was cycling in the area when he was involved in a collision with a dark-coloured car.

It was reported that the driver of the car did not stop at the scene and drove off from the area.

The boy was treated for injuries at hospital following the incident and has now been discharged.

Police Community Support Officer Darren Stretton said: “We appreciate a week has passed since the incident and our enquiries have been ongoing during this time into the collision.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or to anyone who may have any dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact us.

“The incident happened last Wednesday morning when a number of people would have been making their way to work or carrying out school runs. Please think back to any information you may have and please get in touch with us if you are able to help.”
