The council are proposing to 'dispose of the site' and are asking for residents' thoughts.

A consultation has been started by Leicestershire County Council to determine the future of the former Holliers Walk Primary School.

A notice has been put on the gates of the Victorian building.

The building, which was built in 1878, has been empty since 2016 as the school relocated to Hinckley Parks Primary School on Leicester Road.

The council are now proposing to 'dispose of the site' and are asking for residents' thoughts.

This means the council could sell the vacant school building.

A Leicestershire County Council spokesman said: "As part of a statutory requirement set by the Secretary of State under the sections outlined on the notice, we’re inviting comments prior to any disposal of the vacant Holliers Walk Primary School. We will also ensure that the local community is kept up to date with any future plans for the development of the site.”
