• The East Midlands Planned Care Centre has welcomed its first patients.
• The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust’s (UHL) new centre at the Leicester General will provide an extra 100,000 appointments yearly for outpatient consultations and low-complexity treatments.

EVENTS

• Charnwood Borough Council Markets, Fairs and Events team have won the Best Team award at a regional tourism awards ceremony.
• The Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards recognise the successes of events and businesses across the past 12 months.
• The team was recognised for their work holding on weekly and specialist markets and for events such as the Loughborough Fair and the Loughborough Christmas Lights Switch-on.
