• A police investigation is continuing following a fatal collision on the A5 yesterday afternoon (Monday 9 December).
• Police were called to a stretch of road between the M69 and the B578 Lutterworth Road shortly before 2.45 pm following a report that a blue Kia Sportage had left the carriageway.
•  A man in his 80s has died.
• Officers want to speak to anyone with a dashcam or who saw the vehicle involved beforehand.

• The East Midlands Planned Care Centre has welcomed its first patients.
• The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust’s (UHL) new centre at the Leicester General will provide an extra 100,000 appointments yearly for outpatient consultations and low-complexity treatments.
