FAMILIES
- Hundreds of Leicestershire families needing extra support will receive a helping hand this Christmas.
- Food hampers, toys, food vouchers and activities have been organised by Leicestershire County Council’s Targeted Family Help service.
- In Hinckley and Bosworth, it is thought that up to 500 children will receive toys donated through its annual toy appeal, as well as the £10,000 worth of food bank vouchers
NHS
- Colleagues at the Emergency Department (ED) Transfer Hub at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust put together a Christmas-themed weekend for patients.
- People were offered food, music, entertainment and beauty therapy.
- The Transfer Hub helps to reduce ambulance waiting times by supporting patients who have been seen in the emergency department and are awaiting transfer to a ward.
