VACCINE
- Health leaders in Leicestershire have said that during the colder winter months, they see a sharp increase in cases of preventable illnesses and vaccinations will help prevent serious illnesses and hospital treatment.
- They are reminding eligible local people to have all their NHS-recommended winter vaccinations including Covid-19, flu, and RSV.
NURSES
- Two nurses from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) have received the international DAISY Award for the outstanding compassionate care they provide to their patients.
- Claire Stafford, a complex wound nurse, was nominated for the award for going above and beyond.
- Alicia Foulds, a specialist community heart failure nurse, was nominated for providing an incredibly high standard of individualised care.
WASTE
- Leicestershire Residents planning to visit a recycling and household waste site over Christmas and New Year are being urged to check opening hours before heading out.
- The county council says that the days following Boxing Day and into the New Year can be extremely busy at all sites, and visitors are asked to bear this in mind.
TREES
- and Charnwood Borough Council will be back at Loughborough Market tomorrow handing out the remaining free trees.
- They will be at the market from 10 am-2 pm with five varieties of tree saplings to choose from.
