WILDLIFE
- A scheme to help Leicestershire roadside verges has extended its deadline for applications.
- Verges are considered for the scheme only if they are within a 30/40mph zone and junctions and blind bends are not restricted.
- The deadline to get involved has been extended until Friday 17th of January, to give more parishes the chance to take part. The scheme will kick off again in spring.
MEDICINE
- Anyone who takes prescribed medication regularly is asked to get prepared and make sure they have enough to last well into the New Year.
- Any repeat prescriptions need to be ordered by around Wednesday 18th December to ensure GP practices and pharmacies have time to process the requests before Christmas.
LIGHTS
- Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are sharing advice to stay safe this Christmas.
- They say if you are using fairy lights check for damaged wires, avoid overloading sockets, and turn them off when you go to bed.
