The change in opening hours for Leicestershire’s recycling and household waste sites will come into effect this week.
From Saturday 1st October to 31st March, waste sites in Leicestershire will change their opening times to 9 am to 4 pm and the last entry will be at 3.55 pm.
Sites at Lount, Lutterworth, Melton, Mountsorrel and Whetstone are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Barwell, Coalville, Loughborough, Market Harborough, and Oadby sites are closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
Shepshed is closed Sunday to Wednesday.
Councillor Blake Pain, the cabinet member for the environment and the green agenda, said: “We reduce the opening hours at our recycling and household waste sites every year from October to March.
“This means we can keep the sites open for extended hours during the summer months when there is a higher demand for using our waste sites.”
