Police want to trace a lorry driver who was driving behind the vehicles involved.
Police are investigating a serious collision in a village close to East Midlands Airport on Friday (19 July) night.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Moor Lane, Tonge, and want to trace a lorry driver who was driving behind the vehicles involved.
The collision happened shortly after 10.30 pm and involved two cars – a black BWM X3 and a blue Toyota Yaris.
The three occupants of the BMW sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital undergoing treatment. Their condition has been described as stable.
