The incident happened on the southbound carriageway between Sileby Road and Leicester Road slip road.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses as a cyclist has died in a fatal road traffic collision on the A6, Mountsorrel.
Police received a call at 11.43 pm on Friday (2 August) from East Midlands Ambulance Service following their attendance at the collision.
A cyclist and a black Mercedes ML250 collided on the southbound carriageway between Sileby Road and Leicester Road slip road.
The cyclist, a woman in her thirties was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the Mercedes were not injured.
A 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation.
DC Charlotte Wright from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the cyclist who was riding a white folding Fiido electric bike beforehand as well as the Mercedes.
“Also, if you have any dash cam footage which may have captured anything connected to this incident to also get in touch.”
