The road has now reopened.
Leicestershire Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on the A6 involving a motorcycle just after 12 pm today (17/07).
A pillion passenger was taken to hospital and her injuries are believed to be life-changing.
Leicestershire Police, said: "The rider has been arrested on suspicion of driving or being in charge of a motor vehicle with concentration of specified controlled drug above specified limit."
