Police are investigating reports of assault and criminal damage.
Around 5am on Wednesday 7 July, officers received a report of a man lying in the middle of the crossroads at Joe Moores Lane and Swithland Road.
It was reported that the man in the road assaulted another man and damaged vehicles who stopped to assist.
A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in connection with this incident and was released under investigation.
Detective Constable Julia Newton said: “We are trying to identify a female driver who stopped to assist the man.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured it on dash cam.”
