LCFC supporters group says most support change in ownership

The Foxes Trust, a Leicester City supporters group, says 75% of those who responded to a recent survey support the sale of the club.

It follows widespread speculation that King Power is placing the club and its assets on the market.

A statement from Foxes Trust said:

Five years ago, our club was an established Premier League side with a strong squad, academy, reputation and facilities to its name, not to mention recent silverware. It was as good a platform as any club could wish for. Since then the alarming decline of our club, both on and off the pitch, has been disastrous.

We remain grateful for the part that King Power played in past successes. However, our End of Season Survey was clear that supporters place the blame for the last few years squarely at the door of the current hierarchy. 75% of supporters who responded to the survey supported a change in ownership.

The supporters club also said that interactions with the senior leadership team at the Club over the summer months have raised concerns over an "unwillingness to change" and a "continued lack of transparency". 

New ownership does not automatically solve these problems. If the club is to restore itself to where it belongs and rebuild its connection with the wider supporter base, it is essential that any prospective new owners align with these values and standards.

Our club has lost its way. We welcome these media reports and hope they mark the beginning of a return to a club that we can all be proud of once more.
