One car was found to be smoking and on its side.
Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the M6 on Monday 24th November.
It happened at around 12.30am between junctions 2 and 3 on the northbound carriageway and involved a Black Range Rover Evoque and a Black Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Emergency Services went to the scene where, on arrival, one car was found to be smoking and on its side.
Road closures were in place until around 5am.
A child was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
