Civic Hall reopens cafe

A NEW Takeaway service that is being operated at the Civic Hall in Bedworth’s High Street Coffee Bar opens for the first time in more than three months.

The High Street venue will be offering a selection of food and drinks from Tuesday to Friday, from 9am until 1.30pm following an easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

Food available includes jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings such as plain with butter, cheddar cheese, baked beans and tuna mayonnaise and cheese, ham or bacon toasties. There will also be a selection of sandwiches and batches, with fillings including bacon, sausage, egg, cheese, ham or tuna. Customers can also enjoy a chip batch and a portion of chips, with hot and cold drinks also available. All transactions will be contactless and no cash will be accepted.

Members of the public will not be admitted fully into the building - customers must use the fire doors at the front of The Civic Hall and will be admitted one at a time with the two metre social distancing adhered to, there is no table service or eat-in facility and the toilets are closed.

One member of staff will remain in the Coffee Shop, with the second taking orders, both will wear protective masks.

The tearoom at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery in Riversley Park is also now open for takeaway between Tuesday and Friday from 10.30am until 4pm.

“Both of these buildings form a firm part of their town’s respective heritage and while a full re-opening may still be some time away, this is a very positive step."
